Dear Volunteers, Members, and Friends of NVAC,

It is with great honour and humility to inform you that NVAC is the recipient of the President's Social Service Award 2006 for the Informal Group Category. In the area of Social Service Volunteerism, this award is the highest accolade an organization can receive in this Nation.

More so, this is the first time since its inception in 2001 that a student-based organization (entirely run by students) has won this award.

Key Testament to the Volunteering Spirit... NVAC Volunteers
Though in service to those we care, feel and plege ourselves to help, we volunteers do not aim to aspire to win great awards, nor gain prestige and fame whilst in servitude to the community.

Yet, in light of the continued hardwork, dedication and selflessness many of the Volunteers here in NVAC possess, it is most timely, and with much gratitude that we humbly embrace the honour that has been bestowed upon us for our contributions to society.


To all Volunteers in NVAC, from both alumni and freshmen, from NUS and beyond,

Thank you all for the hardwork, passion and due diligence in carrying out the multitude of volunteering activities, initiatives, and outreach programs that NVAC has to offer to our beneficiaries...and especially to our beneficiaries...


Moving Forward...
Though proud we are in our hearts, remain humble we must be in our actions -
Let us continue to develop and progress our Volunteerism efforts and bring them further, and farther in the years to come... "Towards a Leading Student Volunteer Host Organization" is the Vision of NVAC that we must continue to hold true to...

The Award
The Award and Certificate that was presented by President S R Nathan on 30/8, will subsequently be presented to the new incoming Chairperson of NVAC of the 17th Main Committee in October to officiate the Inauguration of the New Main Committee. Subsequently, the Award will be kept at the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), in NUS, for safekeeping, alongside with our Singapore Youth Award which we received in 2002.

With this, I shall end off from here... and with the hope that more can be expected from our future generations...
